Soleil
Roxbury, MA
Project Highlights:
LHD partnered with Roxbury restauranteur and chef Cheryl Slaughter on the brand identity, facade, and collateral pieces of her new project Soleil. The team aimed to create an identity that would communicate the restaurant's Southern influences as well as successfully establish its personality as welcoming, playful, and an ideal gathering place. LHD learned during the discovery phase that Soleil is named for Cheryl's granddaughter and was thus inspired to create a mark that incorporated a handdrawn portrait of Soleil. The early stages of our communication with Sheryl were essential in forming a sense of the casual but personal aesthetic that she had in mind.
Outside of the OED ReStore & Design Services Program scope, Cheryl hired LHD to develop Soleil's menu series, website, and brand extensions.
LHD worked in conjunction with the City of Boston OED to meet engineering and structural standards. Additionally, LHD collaborated closely with proprietor, architect, sign vendors and installation team to unify all design elements.
